# Free to use as a shop or food truck — and earn a little extra as an ambassador

As a shop in a city card programme or as a food truck operator you use MijnEvent for free: your participation costs you nothing. And if you know an association, municipality or organiser that could use MijnEvent too, you can earn a little extra as an ambassador.

- Shops in a city card programme and food truck operators use MijnEvent for free: the module's costs sit with the issuing organisation or the organiser, not with you.
- Through the ambassador programme you earn a reward when someone signs up as a new organiser through your personal link and actually sells tickets.
- The reward applies to that organiser's first event, with a maximum of €750 per referred organiser.
- You can receive a payout for a maximum of 3 referred organisers; this number can be increased by agreement with MijnEvent.

More and more shopkeepers and food truck operators work with MijnEvent every day without ever having created an account for it themselves: the bakery scanning city vouchers at the till, the chip stand working through orders in its own portal. For them, one simple rule applies: **your participation costs you nothing**. And recently the invitation email mentions one more thing: if you know an association, municipality or organiser that could put MijnEvent to good use, you can earn a little extra as an ambassador.

# Shops and operators pay nothing

Let's be precise about what "free" means here. Are you a **shop participating in a city card programme**? Then the issuing organisation sends you an invitation, you set a PIN and you scan vouchers with the shop app — no subscription, no costs for you. How that works is covered in [our article on the city voucher](/en/blog/city-voucher-for-your-town).

Are you a **food truck operator**? Then the organiser invites you and you manage your orders, menu and register in [your own portal](/en/blog/food-truck-portal-for-operators) — also at no cost to you.

The module's costs sit with the issuing organisation or the organiser, not with you. You log in, do your work, done.

# You see more of the market than we do

Why are we telling you this? Because shopkeepers and operators sit right in the middle of the local network. You know the retailers' association of your own town centre, your truck stands at the village fair three municipalities over, the chairman of the local sports club chats with you at the counter. Exactly the organisations MijnEvent was built for — and that often don't know it exists yet.

That's why the invitation emails for shops and operators now point to the **ambassador programme**: if you use MijnEvent for free and want someone else to benefit too, we think there should be something in it for you.

# How the ambassador programme works

The programme is deliberately simple — you don't even need an account:

1. **Request your link.** Enter your name and email address on the [ambassador page](/en/ambassador). Your personal link lands in your inbox right away. Free and without obligation.
2. **Share it.** Send your link to someone who wants to organise an event — chat, email or social.
3. **Earn along.** If they sign up as an organiser through your link and sell tickets, you earn a share on their first event.
4. **Get paid.** After the event we let you know what you earned. You send a payment request (or VAT invoice) and we pay right away.

# The terms, without fine print

The full rules are on the ambassador page, but these are the ones that matter most:

- You earn a reward when someone **signs up as a new organiser through your link and actually sells tickets**; the reward applies to that organiser's **first event**.
- The amount depends on the fee the organiser agrees with MijnEvent, with a maximum of **€750 per referred organiser**.
- You can receive a payout for a **maximum of 3 referred organisers** — this number can be increased by agreement with MijnEvent.
- Rewards are determined **after the event** and paid via a payment request or VAT invoice.
- Participation is **personal**: one ambassadorship per person and per email address, and MijnEvent may refuse rewards in case of abuse, self-referral or cancelled or refunded sales.

# Start today

Know a parade committee, a festival, an association that finally wants to move on from paper ticket sales, or a municipality thinking about its own city voucher? [Request your ambassador link](/en/ambassador) — it takes thirty seconds, and all you have to do afterwards is forward that link to the right person.

When comparing ticketing platforms, organisers look at the platform fee. But there is a second bill: the cost of the payment itself. What it is, how it adds up, and why it scales with orders rather than tickets.
