It is a **core value** woven into everything we build. We follow the WCAG AA guideline, the international standard for accessible websites and applications. Why is that important? Because everyone should be able to buy tickets — including people with a visual, motor or other disability. An inaccessible ticket form can easily lock out part of your audience. We want to prevent that. # What does WCAG AA mean in practice? WCAG AA sounds technical, but it comes down to a number of very concrete choices that make the difference. At MijnEvent we pay attention, among other things, to: - **Sufficient colour contrast** — text has a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1, so that people with limited vision can read everything clearly too. - **Always visible focus indicators** — anyone navigating with the keyboard can always see clearly where they are on the page. - **Semantic HTML with a correct heading structure** — headings follow a logical order, so that the page is understandable for assistive technology. - **Clear labels and error messages** — every form field has a clear label, and if something goes wrong you get an understandable message that explains what to do. - **Full keyboard operation** — you don't need a mouse to buy a ticket; everything can be operated with the keyboard. - **Support for screen readers** — people who rely on a screen reader to read content aloud can use the whole site independently. # Accessible throughout the whole journey For us, accessibility is not a standalone piece but applies to the **complete journey** a visitor makes. From the very first contact to the entrance of your event: - The **event page** where visitors find the information about your event. - The **ticket purchase** where they select their tickets. - The **checkout** where they pay. - The **check-in** at the door of your event. At each of these steps we pay attention to accessibility. Because an accessible event page is of little use if the checkout can't then be operated with a screen reader. # Good for your visitors, good for you An accessible platform means that everyone can buy a ticket independently, without help from others and without frustration. That is, first and foremost, fair and inclusive. But it is also simply good for you as an organiser: you reach a wider audience and you show that you welcome everyone.
